Forced upon us by Air China we had another 18 hour stopover in Taipei on our way home (yes cringe worthy my dear friends but we make the most of every minute on our travels).
We had organised to meet Eva at MacDonalds in the CBD this time, to save her the trip out to the airport now that we had become old pros at how to get to the city from the airport, which is in another town 50 minutes away.

I already knew I wanted to see the Taiwan Flora Expo - the country's inaugural floraexpo. Gerald will probably tell you otherwise (we are all entitled to our own opinion) but I loved it. The following photos pretty much some up the things we saw on our last day.
FIRSTLY WE WATCHED A LIVE Musical based on a wedding. Please Note: We were THE ONLY white people amongst 1,000s!
We then head off around the grounds to see some floral displays.
Some cultural, agricultural and marine displays
Authentic Chinese Medicine Cabinet |
Incense |
Taiwan Yew and the anti Cancer Drug
Harvesting and drying YEW Trees |
A sweet old man explaining to G in English how they have a cure for killing aphids which eat strawberrys. |
And ended at another live musical by children who are the Nations best "DIABLO DANCERS"
The videos don't do the whole show justice. It lasted for 40 miutes and was highly entertaining - G didn't enjoy it but he did appreciate the experise.
We flew home that night.
That's all folks - just one more blog about our wonderful hosts The Barons - then I'm done!
